Musée Départemental du Compagnonnage

In the footsteps of the journeyman carpenters... ! Come and discover the masterpieces of the journeymen carpenters and the history of the carpentry school founded in 1871 in Romanèche-Thorins. Its founder, Pierre-François Guillon, a journeyman carpenter, taught his students drawing, material cutting and woodworking techniques. Carpentry and companionship are listed by UNESCO as intangible cultural heritage of humanity. Visit the museum as a family with the children's trail for 3 to 8 year olds. Last visit 1 hour before closing time (November to February inclusive).

Hours

The museum is open every day: From 02/01/2023 to 31/05/2023 and from 01/10/2023 to 14/12/2023 from 14h to 18h. From 01/06/2023 to 30/09/2023 from 10am to 6pm. Last visit 1 hour before closing time (from 1 November to 28 February inclusive). Closed on 1 May. Annual closure from 15/12 to 01/01/2024 included.
