Come and discover the history and characteristics of the Burgundy Bresse region in the majestic setting of a 17th century castle. Natural environments, traditional trades and activities, objects of daily life and housing... All aspects of the territory and its inhabitants are evoked during the visit.
Numerous family workshops and guided tours during the school holidays.
Hours :
Open every day from 01/06/2023 to 30/09/2023 from 10am to 12:30pm and from 1:30pm to 6pm, including Sundays and public holidays. Open every day from 23/01/2023 to 30/05/2023 and from 01/10/2023 to 22/12/2023 from 10am to 12pm and from 2pm to 6pm from Monday to Friday, and from 2pm to 6pm only on weekends and holidays. Annual closure from 22/12/2023 to 21/01/2024 inclusive.
Services
Presentation of the history of local crafts within the natural and archaeological context of the Bresse region and the Chateau of Pierre-de-Bresse itself. Permanent exhibition of crafts activities from yesteryear, the local economy and means of production nowadays. Collection of traditional Bresse country furniture, and an audiovisual presentation room. The museum also contains a tearoom and a conference room/concert hall. Musical entertainment is held every Sunday from June to September and during the concert season. The chateau grounds are also open to visit.
