Musée de Préhistoire de Solutré
Located at the foot of the Rock of Solutré, this museum contains collections from some of the richest prehistoric finds in Europe. It traces the daily life of hunters from the Upper Palaeolithic period in Solutré as well as the distinct civilisation that bears its name. The exhibit contains an array of sound and audiovisual displays as well. The archaeological and botanic garden serves to complete the visit. The marked path approximately 1 km long has been laid out around 8 observation points focusing on local geology, ancient hunting techniques, landscape scenes during prehistoric times, discovery of the site and the first digs, recent digging campaigns, the finds unearthed, and vestiges. The museum also provides for familiarity with the site's outstanding botanical environment by virtue of information signs and panels visible on plants and trees over the entire path.
